Honey Bee Hive Investigations

A while back I published some images of bees collecting pollen here.

This time, I took a look inside their man-made habitat.

My sister and brother-in-law raise bees on their micro farm in New Jersey. During a recent visit, they opened up their bees’ hives to do a periodic inspection. They look for mite infestations and other signs that the hive might be in trouble. My camera was able to capture a glimpse into what goes on inside a honeybee hive: lots of working and feasting.
